Robert Gordon - an atlas of South African animals
Robert Gordon travelled to South Africa in 1773, and associated with the other European naturalists working there at the time. His work is well-regarded to this day, and he left natural historians a rich legacy in the form of the Gordon Atlas in Amsterdam.
